Faith in Jesus and knowing Him were the best thing that could have ever happened in my life. If you share the same faith as I do, you can agree with that. And if it’s so amazing, then we just wish everybody would know about it. Right?
I didn’t grow up knowing the Lord and in fact I learned a lot of things with the world — a lot of bad things. And because I’ve experienced those things and I know they don’t lead anyone to a place even close to happiness, satisfaction or contentment, I just wish even more that everyone will come to know the love of Jesus so they won’t have to suffer the agony of living a life of sin and darkness.
A few days ago, my husband shared a little bit of his faith on facebook. Like me, he didn’t know the Lord in the way we do today until a couple of years ago, and he too lived a life of things that were learned in the world. We both, sure made a lot of mistakes, but that is past now and we’re new creatures in Christ Jesus, forgiven and redeemed by His blood that was shed on the cross. We were changed and transformed by His love.
This kind of transformation is only possible through the love of Christ. Whoever read my husband’s word of faith on facebook that day didn’t and doesn’t know the love of Jesus yet. That man cursed, brought up things from the past and argued with hurtful words…
We read his comment, got angry, sad and anguished. Then, we remembered the grace, mercy and love of Christ, that have brought us to where we are today: a place of peace, living everyday to pursue God’s will.
That situation made me remember a sentence that spoke a lot to me as I was reading “The 5 Habits Of A Woman Who Doesn’t Quit” a couple days ago: opposition is always an opportunity for God to reveal Himself. If you stop and think about it, it really is. So I believe all the stress we had, might have been a real opportunity for God to reveal Himself.
So if you’re going through a situation of opposition, don’t worry. God is working and there’s always opportunity for God’s love and mercy to be revealed to someone. Stay strong and don’t give in. Share your faith and your testimony with confidence. Trust in the Lord and in the times of opposition there will be the opportunity of his revelation, bringing change and transformation to the life of those who need it the most.
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven” Matthew 5:14-16
I just pray God will be revealed to that man and that soon He will be the one sharing his testimony of faith and encounter with Christ’s love. I pray that you and I will be bold to continue sharing our faith even when there’s opposition, and in that God will be revealed!
